Donny
Fisher
Donny was ‘on the road’ for
many years with the family business FISHER RACING. Fisher Racing began in
1974 on the dirt tracks in rural Iowa.
Led by his Dad – Bob Fisher – Driver and Mechanic – the team raced their way up
from the street stock class to the top level - late model division. In the 1990’s
Bob and Skita’s sons – B.J. and Donny Fisher
began their careers in racing. With several wins to their credit, it was time
to move on!
Putting the dirt track racing on hold, the family moved to Georgia
to form the race team for Jerry Glanville – owner and driver for Glanville
Motorsports. This Team began competing around the country in NASCAR Trucks,
NASCAR Busch, Winston West, and ARCA. While Bob is still crew chief for
Glanville Motorsports – Donny went out on his
own with the skills he had acquired in the ‘family business’.

It has been Donny’s long
time dream to have a workshop/camp for youth that could include allowing the
attendees to actually tour the racing compounds. Spend some time with the
Drivers and Crews – and discover the career opportunities that are available to
them. These camps would stress that personal responsibility is key to success
in life. Along with the opportunities to learn about racing – the plan is also
to introduce some of the cultural aspects – Drumming – Crafts – Storytelling –
and Dance would also be incorporated into these ‘camps’.
Donny is a new member of
the Board of Directors for INDIO Trail Inc. We welcome his youth and vitality
and look forward to his participation with our organization. He is an enrolled member
of the Sioux Nation – Yankton, S.D. And while he is understandably proud of his
heritage and is actively seeking to learn the ways and culture himself, he is equally
committed to the success of the
vision of INDIO Trail – which is inclusive of ALL People from the Four
Directions.
