Designed and delivered comprehensive multi-day technical orientation for approximately 100 new hardware
and software engineers in Lucent’s Optical Networking Division.
  Every other week, provided business overview,
history of optical developments both within Bell Laboratories and
  the industry, introduction to dense wave
division multiplexing, competitive analysis, product overview, and an orientation to the social/cultural
aspects of the work group (approximately 500 employees in US and Germany).

New Employee Orientation, Lucent Technologies  Shanghai, China                    5/99 -- 6/00
Designed and delivered (in English) comprehensive Lucent orientation to approximately 150 Chinese
employees newly hired by Lucent.
  Orientation sessions were held in Beijing and Shanghai and
included both technical and social training.
  Subjects included corporate overview, history of
corporation and Bell Laboratories, introduction to optical networking, basic English telephone
skills and simple technical writing skills, teamwork, and various social skills.
